from Blacksburg VA, haven't really done that much yet, didn't have the time or money until I moved here to work on it. Right now I'm fixing all the little shit thats wrong with it that's been bugging me. the first few things I have on the list is a remus exhaust, cosmos CAI, going to upgrade my head unit because my current one is useless at the moment. I'd like to do a lot to it but without a garage/place to work on it, it would be a pain in the ass

Tech fan for sure, I am a Hokie, VT alum, just graduated in December. I'd like to come out, I have a friends party/bbq that same day but I'm not sure what are the plans with it. If I can, I definitely want to be there. I was looking into getting tint done as well on my windows, I emailed a company in the area...i think united solar? but they never answered. apparently Virginia Solar Tinting is where I should've been checking

Ha ha ha, there is a UVA fan some where out there. Yeah I am waiting until July 1st when the law changes to get tint put into my car. You should def look into VST to get it done, I have heard a lot of good things about there work. What degree did you gt from VT?

I'm the UVA fan! Go HOOOOS!!!
Sorry, had to get that out there. Love to have you come up to the meeting on the 25th. (Even though your a Hokie). Sounds like a pretty nice ride.
VST is definitely the place to go to get tint, and even some other things. Best work around.
We're going to a car show tomorrow at Priority Scion in Chester, Va at 6:15PM. Your're more than welcome to ride with us.
Hope to see you around
Go HOOOS!!!

I would have loved to go to that show, I was out of town though, just got back. Its a great car, I love it, it just needs some work and is no where near a finished product. Nothing wrong with UVA fans, its just an "agree to disagree" situation haha Just bought the parts to have my driver's side door handle fixed, thought about doing it myself but working on those small parts inside the door would be too much of pain having not done it before. Anyone have a recommendation for a good shop in the area? I'm not taking it to the dealer, the wanted 240 just for the part, I was able to find it online for well below that.

That's cool man. We have a meeting this coming Saturday and plenty more events throughout the rest of the year.
It would be tough to find a real good place to work on your BMW. Shops around here tend to not know how to work on those or charge way too much. I would recommend Import Autohaus. There are a few of them around here and I've heard good things about them. They specialize in high end European cars like yours.

door panel work usually isn't that bad. ive never done a bmw, but i have done a 350z and a mercedes door panel before and they weren't too bad. Just have to be carefull and make sure you're using plastic trim tools on anything that is prone to tool marks. If you really don't want to do it though i would have to agree with dan in recommending import autohaus... they do good work and specialize in euro cars. Hope to see you on the 25th.....
