I recently acquired a new project for 2012. 2007 CBR600RR13K miles Lowered 2 inches front and rear Slip on Two Brothers exhaust Stock sprockets Bringing her home A Diamond in the rough.. Found enough spider webs in this bike to quilt a silk blanket. Ok, time for a bath to see what this thing really looks like. She cleaned up halfway decent. It's obvious she is going to need some loving attention though. The parts list is long but luckily not too terribly expensive. Time to figure out how to work on a bike... My nipples are hard with excitement ;D Lets start with the bodywork and paint.... Pulled the fairings for sanding etc. Got all the fairings pulled and most of them are prepped and ready for paint. Still need a few parts before primer can be applied. She sleeps naked in the shed for now... More updates to come..

Parts Received:Shortened kickstand Bridgestone BT016 tires (front and rear) Wix oil filter 3qts Mobil 1 full synthetic motorcycle oil Parts Ordered and Shipped:Front headlights Hyperwhite bulbs Hotbodies flush mount turn signals Front cowl Front lower spoiler Front headlight covers Front and rear sintered brake pads Need to Order:Fairing bolt kit -After all these parts arrive and are installed the bike will be carefully inspected and hopefully will be ready to ride. I have been working on the bodywork in the meantime waiting for all the parts. I have the green light to bring them to the shop for paint when they are ready. Just need that cowl to come in. That might be another week or two unfortunately. Who doesn't love fresh rubber?? They smell delicious! Shortened kickstand. (Lowered bikes have to have shorter kickstands so they don't stand straight up and then fall over, (apparently no one told the last owner)

Update:All parts are in with the exception of a few brake pads... I was hoping to get it all put together and take it up to the shop for tire mounting/ inspection this week, but unfortunately there are some fitment issues that need worked out first. Mock up of front end.. I tried to save a few bucks using aftermarket headlights and or course, they are causing the entire front end to not line up correctly. The fairings are waaaay to tight and are not locking properly. I verified by removing the headlights and putting it together without them, everything fell into place perfectly. I am going to have to wait and save up some cash to buy them as they are quite expensive. Im mad that i bought the aftermarket ones thinking they would be the same fitment as the oem. I should know better by now... In the meantime i figured i would start prepping the remaining body parts for paint and getting all that ready. The guy who owned this bike before me completely trashed it, i didn't know until i started taking it apart and seeing all the little things.. Clips that are broken, tabs that are missing.. Over spray on parts that wouldn't have happened if he had taken a few minutes to remove them before painting etc. Frustrating... Sanding on front cowl.. Hopefully i will have some pics in the next few days of the fairings when they are done being prepped for paint...

Got the bike titled/registered/insured today. Got some plates on it now. Needs and inspection and then i can get my permanent license!
Im am going to paint it flat black for a month or two until i drop it. I don't want to paint it all pretty and then screw up a shiny new paint job. Flat black should do the trick for now. Paint will come later when i can order the right headlights for it and get the front end to line up properly. Funds won't allow this to happen for a little while, so i am going to mount these crappy knockoffs for now, and leave the front cowl off. That way if i lay it down i won't have to buy all that stuff again. I'll post some pics in the coming week as i get it all together.
