Well my first car was a silver 1999 Honda Civic coupe (EX trim), came as SOHC d16y8 VTEC, roughly 127 hp. I learned to mod cars almost out of necessity as the exhaust was leaking. I took advantage of that and added at first just an axel back. Then upon further rusting I added the mid pipes, effectively making it an aftermarket cat-back exhaust kit. From there the flood gates opened so to speak. AEM short ram intake came next, as well as LED taillights and a full stereo upgrade, 6.5" front speakers, 6x9" rear speakers and head unit, and then 17" Motegi DV5 rims to top it off. This was all done the summer before my senior year of high school, and of course didnt stop there. As my birthday is only a week before christmas I generally use that time to throw all my money at my car, this year buying all the components for a custome turbo setup. I also used an unfortunate hood collision (my dad hit my parked car) to go half in with my parents on a Carbon-fiber evo-style hood. Unfortunately after installation of the turbo, maybe 2 months or so, and really even before it was completed and tuned the car was stolen. This car had been a really nice car (great paint, clean interior, A/C, power steering, sunroof etc.) and to be honest I barely got back from insurance what I paid for the car, despite the mods being the main victims of the theft.

In the wake of my "learning experience", as well as some elicit speed contests, I decided to go in a different direction with Honda #2. I bought a white 1995 Civic hatchback, with a swapped d16z6 VTEC engine, roughly 125 hp. I spent a lot less on the car with plans for heavy modification geared towards performance, figuring I would be wasting less car by tearing it apart. I left the car in NY as i bought it late in the summer right before I left for my first year of college, spending most of the year amassing parts and prepping for work to be done in the spring. Well that winter I blew the engine, threw a rod, and a new engine shot to the top of the list. I chose to go with the b16a, of the jdm counterpart civic SiRII, ultimately instead of the b18c GSR integra motor. So that spring I made major modifications to the car. B16a engine swap, intkake, header and exhaust, Skunk2 Pro-S coilovers, upgraded brakes, carbon fiber hood, new seats, gauges, carbon fiber spoiler, new mirrors. For the next year or so i kept the car that way, it didnt need much. I finally took the car down to NC with me to school, however a little over a year later, while i was home in NY for the summer the car was totalled in a collision with a deer..... the end. Just kidding, most of the parts made their way into my civic that I currently drive, although that car has had plenty of issues of its own.
